Deeper Integration with Microsoft’s SharePoint Allows Creation of Enterprise-Level Activity Streams – Enhanced Charting Tools Improve Customized Dashboards for Viewing KPI’s
TORONTO (September 26, 2011) – Panorama Software, a global leader in proactive Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, announced today the availability of Service Pack 1 (SP1) for its socially-enabled BI 3.0 solution, Panorama Necto. The enhancements contained in SP1 reflect new capabilities requested by Necto’s enterprise-level user base.
SP1 introduces a new “Topics Cloud” functionality which enhances Necto’s suggestions engine by improving the relevancy of data. Users can now work even more effectively as the system provides them with the most relevant trending topics in the enterprise. This new feature greatly improves efficiency by decreasing distractions and preventing users from receiving information that does not pertain to their particular goals.
Also included in SP1 is a tighter integration from Necto’s presentation layer to Microsoft’s SharePoint, its multi-purpose web application platform. SharePoint also becomes an integral social BI point within Necto, as social ad-hoc groups can be setup within the BI platform and then published to SharePoint to enable workflow tasks and the establishment of a joint activity stream for the entire enterprise.
Improved self-service features include newly-designed charting tools that allow users to better customize Workboards, which are Necto’s proprietary personalized social dashboards that give users a view of the enterprise’s health and various trend lines. SP1 also boosts the speed of many of Necto’s algorithmic operations, allowing users to increase efficiency through faster analytics processing.
“Our continuing goal is for Necto to remain at the top of the industry as the most innovative BI solution available today,” said Eynav Azarya, CEO of Panorama Software. “With the introduction of our first service pack, we address some key areas suggested by our very involved user base. Our exciting Topics Cloud function further enhances Netco’s ability to give users relevant insights that align with their specific tasks. We also increased the speed of our analytics engine, allowing users to produce complex data with charting and social connections in near real-time.”
Along with this Service Pack release, Necto will now be available for BI professionals that are looking to extend their BI solution with social decision making and automated relevant insights, to download a free trial version from the Panorama website at www.panorama.com/trial/NectoTrial.php.
