New customers, partners represent Jaspersoft’s growth throughout Europe; company opens fifth European office in Paris
Paris Capitale du Libre (September 24, 2008) –
Jaspersoft Corporation, the market leader in open source business intelligence (BI) and the world’s most widely deployed BI software, today announced a number of milestones representing its commercial success and increasing priority on the European market. Recent customer deployments include EnergySys Limited, INTECO and La SACEM, contributing to over 200 percent growth in subscriptions for Jaspersoft’s Professional Edition products in Europe. Jaspersoft today serves more than 9,000 customers in 96 countries worldwide.
For UK-based EnergySys, the Jaspersoft Business Intelligence Suite is powering its ENERGYSYS hydrocarbon allocation and production reporting software. “By using Jaspersoft, we are confident in the most critical component of our offering – the reporting engine,” said Peter Black, Managing Director, EnergySys Ltd. “We needed best-in-class web delivery, ad-hoc reporting, and the ability to support a broad customer base. There was no question that Jaspersoft was our best option. It delivers on all of our requirements.”
The increased demand for its products across the region has prompted Jaspersoft to open its fifth office in Europe. The new office will be in Paris and complements locations already in Ireland, Italy, Romania and the Ukraine. Jaspersoft’s staff in Europe has more than doubled in the last year and today includes people working in engineering, sales and marketing, technical support, and professional services. In addition to its direct representatives, Jaspersoft has also added over a dozen reseller and consulting services partners in Europe, including Business & Decisions, EXAConsult and Micropole Univers.
Christoph Eckl, Managing Director of INTECO GmbH, a leading project management solution provider, said, “Jaspersoft’s BI solution complements Primavera’s project management suite perfectly, especially concerning reporting in heterogenous environments. The system offers any component needed in reporting. Moreover, Jaspersoft offers professional support that several members of our team have taken advantage of to deliver excellent services based on Jasper technology to our users.”
“We chose Jaspersoft because it is open source and adjustable to our needs. It integrates into our enterprise with no trouble at all,” said Jerome Duchemin, manager of Architecture and Method at La SACEM (www.sacem.fr), the French-based company focused on musical authors’ rights management. “Also, Jaspersoft offers us better core technology than other solutions we assessed and demonstrated its robustness in the very first proof of concepts.”
The company today is also announcing the availability of Jaspersoft v3, the company’s business intelligence suite, in French, German and Spanish. The release marks a major milestone for open source BI software by providing rich enterprise-class functionality delivered through state-of-the-art interactive Web 2.0 interfaces. “Europe continues to lead all other regions in its downloads of Jaspersoft products, and we see this translating into more and more commercial success throughout the region,” said Brian Gentile, CEO of Jaspersoft. “The European market has always led the world in open source adoption, especially in government and universities, but today we see it spreading into a variety of market sectors including both large and mid-market enterprises. Jaspersoft is dedicated to working with our community and partners to offer the very best business intelligence functionality, value and support for all of our European customers.”
Jaspersoft’s story began in Europe where technical visionary Teodor Danciu founded and built the JasperReports library, the world’s most popular open source reporting tool. Today, Jaspersoft’s Community Edition, the most widely deployed open source BI solution in the world, is downloaded more often in Europe than any other region in the world, representing more than one-third of all downloads worldwide.
To support its growing community, Jaspersoft in July announced its new community collaboration platform, JasperForge. The new Forge, developed with Essentia, offers new tools that meet the evolving needs of the largest open source BI community in the world. More than 300 projects today are hosted on the site, including 26 European language projects.
Jaspersoft today is also announcing an extended partnership with open source data integration company Talend. The partnership will result in Jaspersoft-specific packaging of Talend’s products that is uniquely suited for business intelligence customers.
