Mark Burton Brings 30 Years of Proven Operations and Sales Experience to the Open Source Business Intelligence Company

SAN FRANCISCO (January 05, 2011) – Jaspersoft, makers of the most widely used Business Intelligence (BI) software in the world, today announced the addition of industry veteran Mark Burton to the company’s board of directors. As Jaspersoft scales for the next stage of growth, the company will be able to leverage Burton’s 30 years of sales and operations experience. Most notably, Burton served as the executive vice president of worldwide sales and alliances at MySQL, where he built a worldwide sales team and sustained rapid growth leading to the company’s $1 billion acquisition by Sun Microsystems.

Burton brings to Jaspersoft many years of operations experience and a successful track record for developing global sales teams. Additionally, Burton brings extensive open source knowledge gained from his executive post at MySQL and other director roles at Zend Technologies, MuleSoft and Infobright. Prior to MySQL, Burton served as Informatica Corporation’s senior vice president of Americas sales where he drove annual revenue growth from $8 million to $154 million from 1997 to 2001 helping position the company for its successful initial public offering. Burton also held senior executive and sales management positions at OuterBay Technologies, Oracle Corporation, DEC and Unisys.
