Key executives are promoted as Jaspersoft prepares to close its most successful quarter on record

SAN FRANCISCO (July 15, 2009) –

Jaspersoft, provider of the world’s most widely used business intelligence (BI) software, today announced two executive promotions in sales and engineering that represent expanded roles to address the increasing demand for open source BI software.

The global marketplace has experienced a transformation over the last 12 months, which is prompting more new users of open source software than ever before. A Forrester Research study released this year and titled “Open Source Adoption Goes Mainstream” validated this trend by asserting that open source software adoption is on the rise this year. Today’s promotions will help address new customer demand and requirements resulting from these trends.

Mike Moody today has been promoted to senior vice president of development and support. Unlike a decade ago, open source software today excels in features, functionality and cost. Moody will further harness community collaboration with the internal Jaspersoft engineering team to rapidly advance the Jaspersoft open source BI Suite to meet customer requirements today and into the future.

With more than 24 years of experience in software engineering, Moody has successfully transitioned Jaspersoft’s product line strategy from a proprietary/commercial base to a leading commercial open source BI position. Prior to Jaspersoft, Moody headed up CenterBoard’s engineering development and was vice president of Engineering Operations at Portal Software where he saw it through a successful IPO with a team of up to 130 professionals. Moody was also senior director for value added software at Auspex Systems where he directed 45 software engineers in the development of Java-based system management tools. He has also held management positions at Wyse Technology and General Electric. He holds an M.S. in Applied Mathematics and a B.S. in Combined Science from the University of Santa Clara and recently co-authored a book titled “Leading and Managing in Silicon Valley”(http://tinyurl.com/nnt99c).

Jaspersoft veteran Don Wight has been promoted to senior vice president of worldwide field operations. Under Wight’s direction, Jaspersoft has delivered 21 straight quarters of record sales growth and is expected to close the company’s most successful quarter on record this summer. Wight’s professional services group provides help to companies and governments with training and implementation skills to deploy mission-critical open source BI software for both end use and embedded solutions.

Prior to joining Jaspersoft, Wight was vice president of sales at Open Harbor, a provider of global trade management solutions. Wight was also vice president of sales at Netcentives, helping the company to a successful IPO. Prior to Netcentives, he was with The Dialog Corporation, where he led two regional sales organizations. He has additionally held sales and management positions with broad success in industries spanning pharmaceuticals, medical and consumer goods. Wight received his B.A. in International Business from the University of California, Berkeley.

“As an open source software pioneer, Jaspersoft is in a natural position to address today’s market transformation and the needs of new users,” said Brian Gentile, CEO of Jaspersoft. “The executive promotions announced today lend testimony to the contributions these gentlemen have made to Jaspersoft’s unprecedented growth and will further enable Jaspersoft to serve its community and customers as the market surfaces new requirements for business software.”
