SAN FRANCISCO (July 10, 2007) –
JasperSoft Corporation, the market leader in open source business intelligence, today announced a comprehensive OEM agreement with Ingres Corporation, the leading provider of business open source services and solutions. Ingres will leverage the entire JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite to deliver enhanced reporting and analysis capabilities to their customers. The JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite capabilities include production reporting, interactive reporting, data analysis, and data integration.
“Our partnership with JasperSoft gives our customers the ability to rapidly and easily get advanced BI functionality to extend the value of their Ingres solutions,” said Roger Burkhardt, president and chief operating officer for Ingres. “We selected JasperSoft to power our BI solutions strategy because of the breadth and power of the JasperSoft Business Intelligence suite: It’s a full-featured suite with easy customization, extensibility, and product quality.”
With the rapid adoption of open source software in the enterprise, more customers are looking for ways to easily deploy and buy support for best-of-breed applications such as Ingres and JasperSoft.
“The partnership between Ingres and JasperSoft promises to make open source BI more accessible to the marketplace,” said Steve Miller, co-founder and president of OpenBI, a Chicago-based professional services company focused on providing Open Source Business Intelligence (OSBI) consulting and outsourcing services. “The BI solution is at the top of our list of productivity advances for business intelligence, eliminating many technical hurdles experienced by most new deployments. OSBI customers are clearly looking for the all-inclusive BI solutions that JasperSoft and Ingres are developing.”
The JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite will offer Ingres customers a wide range of operational reporting and BI functionality, including a high-performance interactive report server, a graphical report creation tool, and a pixel-perfect reporting system with dashboards, tables, crosstabs, and charts. Customers will be able to create, store, schedule, distribute, share, drill-down, and interact with reports.
“We are pleased to partner with Ingres as a database BI partner. Besides the benefit of open source, Ingres’s database product is mature, with proven enterprise-class capabilities, and we want to create BI offerings for enterprise level customers. JasperSoft BI products are already popular with many of Ingres’s 10,000 enterprise customers around the world,” said Paul Doscher, CEO of JasperSoft. “The new Ingres BI solutions based on the JasperSoft BI Suite will make it even easier for Ingres database users to get advanced BI reporting capabilities and enterprise-class support.”
