McLean, Va., (September 04, 2008) –
MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that ABB Switzerland Ltd.(ABB) has entered into an OEM agreement with MicroStrategy. ABB is a global leader in power and automation technologies.
ABB Switzerland’s “Center of Excellence Printing,” based in Baden-Dättwil, plans to use MicroStrategy’s business intelligence software as an embedded BI solution together with its Web-based production tracking and analysis solution for newspaper printing. ABB’s Center of Excellence Printing provides integrated IT automation systems that enable newspaper publishers and printers to manage and optimize their daily production. The ABB system supports production needs from page planning to the distribution of the finished newspapers, and from controlling the printing presses to planning and tracking the entire production process.
By embedding MicroStrategy into its MPS Insight solution, which tracks newspaper production from the prepress to the delivery of the product, ABB will be able to provide its customers with a decision support system based on enhanced reporting and data analysis capabilities. Specifically, MPS Insight customers will be able to track key metrics along the newspaper production process, including material consumption, paper quality, production deadlines, and process costs.
“MicroStrategy allows us to minimize our development time and enhance our product with a fully integrated and easy to use business intelligence solution creating benefit for our customers,” said Philipp Kaufmann, Product Manager with ABB’s Center of Excellence Printing.
“MicroStrategy is pleased to work with ABB and provide enhanced reporting and analytics for their solution,” said Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategy COO. “MicroStrategy is embedded as the BI technology of choice by OEMs across a wide range of industries because of its integrated platform, user-friendly reporting features, and scalability.”
